To ensure that reports and diagnosis provided may be used as evidence for formal support such as DSA or Access to Work, assessors must be registered with a current Assessment Practising Certificate, requiring regular CPD and evaluation for renewal with PATOSS, BDA, Dyslexia Guild, or be an HCPC registered Educational Psychologist.
A broader approach to assessment
Sometimes there’s more to explore: It could be maths, attention, coordination, memory or other areas that don’t quite make sense yet. Your assessment is shaped around you and the questions you want answered.
The aim isn’t just a diagnosis or a label. It’s to help you understand yourself, or your child, a little better: recognising strengths, making sense of difficulties, and understanding why some things may have felt harder than they should.
Most importantly, you’ll leave with practical recommendations that can make life easier.
And there’s no rule that says an assessment can’t be enjoyable.
